Why we are simplifying GIF Workspace with flexible panels, better project saving, faster erasing, and easy playback speed controls.
Editing a GIF on your phone should not feel like trying to operate a full desktop app through a keyhole. The canvas should be the star, and editing tools should appear when you need them.
We have been improving GIF Workspace with panels that open and close, a timeline you can collapse, and simpler controls for smaller screens. You can still access your layers, edits and properties without leaving the project.
Animation speed is one of the simplest ways to change the feeling of a GIF. We have added a quick speed selector beside the playback controls, so you can try a slower loop or a faster reaction animation without hunting through menus. The goal is for preview and exported timing to match.
Projects should behave like projects: create one, edit it, save it, close it, and open it later. We are strengthening these workflows so your workspace does not accidentally jump back to an old file when you want to start fresh.
We found that drawing with the eraser and playing longer animations could trigger unnecessary work. We have made changes to reduce that overhead and keep the interface more responsive, particularly on phones. These improvements are still being tested on actual devices; if you notice lag, tell us which device and GIF you are using.
Try GIF Workspace, then suggest a feature or report a problem. You can follow the latest editor progress on our updates page.
